THE STORY OF LIONEL MESSI

  Biography of

Lionel Messi

There are many people in our society who quit their dreams because of their disabilities and situations.

Now I will tell you about a person who once had all the negative situations but now he was one of the best footballer in the world.

Yes, its Lionel Messi, the Messiah of Argentina.

A child was born on June 24, 1987 to the father working in a steel company and mother as a sweeper in Argentina. He was the fourth child of the family and they named him as Lionel Andres Messi.

When Messi started to walk, his father gifted him a football. As soon as he got a football, he developed a passion for it. He then joined a club under the coaching of his father at his age of 5.

Because of the poor situation of his family, he used to work in a tea shop that times.Messi's dedication and hard work made a reason to get selected in a club named Newell's Old Boys.

Messi moved forward by presenting exciting performances in his matches. At this period Messi got a title as 'Machine of 87'. At his age of 11, he realized that he was deficient in a hormone needed for growth. Due to this deficiency there are chances for decreasing his blood flow, increase in his cholesterol and to get tired immediately.

Despite of his problems, Messi was not ready to quit his passion. He continued with his playing. At that time the amount needed for his treatment is a big amount for that family. About 900$ per month had been spent for him by his family. Because of this reason Liver play FC had changed their decision of taking Messi in their club. But he was not ready to quit.

When he watch football matches, he felt like his pain had vanished. He then continued playing. At his age of 13, the sports director of Barcelona, Carles Rexach decided to take Messi in Barcelona club but others did not find the decision appropriate. So at that time they didn't choose Messi.

After 2 months they called the parents of Lionel Messi and signed the contract. The contract was signed in a paper napkin instead of a stamp paper. That paper napkin was still preserved today  in  the office of Messi's lawyer. Messi's medical expenses were paid by Barcelona. Messi started to play football in the youth club of Barcelona. He always thought about doing something to Barcelona Club which acquired all his medical expences, so he started to play football with maximum dedication.

At his age of 16, he wore the jersey for Barcelona and entered the match for first time and because of Messi, Barcelona won the match. The match was between FC Barcelona and FC Porto in 13 November, 2003. It was then the time of Messi. Although Messi was shorter than other players, he was regardless of his disability. He had done many magic with his short legs in his matches.

Messi got an achievement as the highest scoring youngest player of the season after two years in May, 2005. He also got an achievement for scoring 200 goals in his younger age of 25 and he was the first player for getting the FIFA award four times repeatedly and he was also the player who got 3 golden boots.

If Messi was sitting at home saying he was sick alone, the World Famous football player Messi would not have been born. He may only die with his real name Lionel Andres Messi. He may only lead his life as a common villager. But he tried to overcome all his disabilities and increased all his skills. He had proved to the world that he can do and still today he continues his football life.

Messi had started a foundation for disabled children in 2007.The Leo Messi foundation aims to health and education of small children. If anyone goes with a child of disability to Leo Messi foundation, the foundation will take care of all the expenses of that child.

Height is very important in football field but Messi is only 5 feet and 7 inch tall. Because of his shortness he can easily tackle with the ball. If the height is decreased , the centre of gravity will also be decreased and he can easily move with the ball. So Messi had seen his disability as a blessing.

We had seen Messi raising his hands after his goal, it was a tribute to his late grandmother, Celia because it was his grandmother who gave him all the support for playing football.

If we are ready to work hard to fulfill our dreams, it is sure that one day the sun will be rising for us. That day the sun rises by treating us like a king.

So whatever be the situation and disability, never mind it, start to work hard until you fulfill your dreams.
