Biography of Robert
Downey JR.
Today I'm going to tell you the story of Robert Downey JR, the Iron man.
Robert Downey JR was born on 4th April, 1965 in Manhattan, New York, United States as the son of Robert Downey SR and Elsie Downey. His father was a film director and his mother was an actress. Most of the films acted by his mother was directed by his father. His home and childhood had passed with a film atmosphere. Because of their busyness, his parents failed to care much for him. Even but his father was more attached to him than his mother.
Downey JR started to consume drugs at his age of 6. It was his father who was a drug addict gave him drugs and taught him to use it.
Downey JR started to act in films at his age of 5. At these times he had completed three films.
When he was 8 years old, drugs came as a villain in his life. At these times Downey became a complete drug addict. It was the beginning of the tragedy in his life.
His parents got separated when he was 13 years old because of his father's drug addiction. At this time,he came to a situation which he did not know what to do. As he was mostly attached to his father, he decided to go with him.
And so the years go by, he had quitted his studies at his age of 17. He then moved to New York and completely concentrated on acting. He started roaming for chances. As he went through a film atmosphere in his childhood, he began to get small roles in films.
In 1987, Downey JR got a leading role in a film. This time Robert Downey JR became famous. He got the character as a millionaire drug addict in the film 'Less than Zero'. After doing this film, Downey said that he was not acting but living in this film. He said that this film is exactly based on his real life story.
He also became famous in the film 'Chaplin'. He had presented the same gestures as that of Charlie Chaplin in this film. Because of that, this film was once nominated for Oscar.
Even when he reached at this range, drugs remained as a villain in his life. In 1984, Downey married Sarah Jessica Parker and within a short time they got divorced because of Downey's drug addiction.
After that in 1992, he again got married with Deborah Falconer but here also drugs acted as a villain. Because of his over consumption of drugs, Deborah also left him.
Because of his drug addiction, Downey JR slowly moved from his top position to a nothingness state. At this times he also had many police cases for several problems he made after using drugs.
At this time, a lady named Susan Levin came to his life as an angel. She said to Downey that if he want to marry her, he should reduce his usage of drugs. After that he slowly reduced using drugs.
Upto 2003, he was continuously using drugs. After that, he wished to act in a film but no one is ready to take a film with him.
Even at that time when he lost everything because of drugs and stood on a street, he was not ready to quit. He went for a job in a pizza hub and tried for chances in a film but none took a film with him. At this time his friend, Mel Gibson helped him. He continued to roam for chances. Many people criticized him saying that he was a complete drug addict and he was mad and said that he cannot do anything. Downey's aim was to give them a reply.
In 2007, Marvel Studios gave him a character. It was the character that led Robert Downey JR to become world famous. He took his maximum effort to perform his character as Iron man in that film. After that with every Marvel movie he makes, his salary went up by 100 - 200%. Like that he became one of the most high paid actor in the Hollywood industry. After that Robert Downey JR gave reply to those who criticized him with his life.
With all his will power, he had changed from the state of nothingness to a high paid actor.
