Today I'm going to tell you about the story of KFC and its founder Colonel Sanders.

Colonel Harland David Sanders was born on September 9, 1890 in Henryville, Indiana, United States. His father had died when he was 5 years old. After that his family moved to poverty.

He had dropped his studies because of poverty when he 16 years old.

At his age of 17, he got married and after one year, he became a father.

At his age of 20, he got divorced with his wife. After that he went for a job in railway as a steam engine stroker for about 2 years but he didn't gain anything from this.

After that he tried job in American army but he didn't stay there for long. Then he went as a cleaner in a hotel and after a long term of his service, he got promoted as a supplier. This time is when he entered kitchen and learned to cook many kinds of dishes and tried many variety works in chicken itself. At these times his main hobby was cooking.

And so the years went by, he continued working in the kitchen of that hotel for many years. At his age of 65, he was forced to retire from that hotel. They thought that it would be a liability for them if that 65 years old man still stay there. So they left him.

At this time he had nothing except 99 dollars which the government have gave him as a social security fund. At this time Sanders have no idea about how he live and move forward, so he decided to commit suicide. Although he decided to commit suicide but he didn't have the courage to do so. He then sat under a tree and remembered about the incidents happened in his life one by one. He had remembered a list of failures in his life. At that time the only thing that made him happy was the incident when his colleagues admire him when he cooks variety chicken dishes in the hotel. He remembered various incidents and stay there for a long time.

At that time he thought of starting a street cart and selling chicken fry with his 99 dollars cash. He then started a street cart at his age 65 by taking some amount from his 99 dollars. But he didn't succeed there and was forced to close his street cart.

He then cooked chicken fry and started to deliver it in houses but people seemed it as a low quality food item. The motivation that he got to continue his business was that the people who had once tasted his chicken has came to him again. That is when Sanders thought that it was better to supply his chicken in a restaurant than in houses and that would make a trust among people.

He then started to request several restaurant to take his dishes. He requested to almost 1009 restaurants but everyone rejected him. He started trying again and again with all of his confidence. At last a restaurant accepted his request with some conditions. The condition was that the restaurant will be paying him only after selling his dishes. But at that time he had spent almost from his 99 dollars. At this time he borrowed 85 dollars from some people he knew and the next day itself he started to cook his chicken dishes and delivered that to the restaurant. In the evening, the restaurant will pay him the cash of the dishes which they had sold and he will bury rest of the dishes.

As the time went by, the amount of the unsold dishes went down. Once who had tasted his dish then came again for that. Slowly his chicken became famous in America. Many restaurants came to him with orders for his dishes. As the orders for his dishes had increased, he started a restaurant in Kentucky and started selling his dishes there. It was from there the Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) had been born. From there his level had increased. Today KFC had more than 24,000 restaurants in over 145 countries and territories around the world.

He met success with his confidence and hard work.

Colonel Sanders had died in December 16,1980 when he was 90 years old. At that time of his death, he was in the list of millionaires in the world.
